Monsters 5E Cryptids

Probably the most famous creature is the Bigfoot, a towering creature that is said to stand about 12 feet tall, covered in bushy brown hair, and is humanoid in its appearance and gait. These sightings are extremely rare and in fact Bigfoot is extremely adept at avoiding the prying eyes of individuals.

Bigfoot is in fact credited to have an almost supernatural sense of where humanoid creatures are, apparently up to 1 mile if they are in their best environment, and do everything in their power to avoid such encounters. Some individuals say that this supernatural sense is just a ploy by heroes who have failed to encounter Bigfoot and are happy to use this reasoning as an excuse for their unyielding searches.

On the occasions that Bigfoot has been encountered, those who have encountered it have fought it fiercely to claim its hide and prove to the world its true existence. Unsuccessful attempts are the norm in these cases, as Bigfoot is incredibly bulky and powerful, able to slam its huge fists with impunity against those that aim to take it from its forested home. It is also acutely attuned to the natural around it, and is able to call upon the local wildlife to aid it in its combats.

Others have a less aggressive approach, instead observing Bigfoot outside the range that it'll notice them with a spyglass or other magnifying devices. These have usually yielded the most compelling results and the device of footprints, hair, and illusory recreations are the best when following this method. These Bigfoot watchers also hint that Bigfoot has an intelligence to them, communicating loudly across the forest when it thinks it is nowhere near humans. This has led some to believe that Bigfoot is looking for its kind, and is possibly the last of its species...
