Fairy Tale 5E Monsters

Enchanted Servant - Teapot

This is the first of five monsters/creatures in a small run that is based on the fairy tale of Beauty and the Beast (La Belle et la Bete). The content below was provided by Vexadextry, and can be found here. The monster image was created by Tomassiart , and can be found here. Keep a lookout for the Cursed Beast Prince and the Red Rose of Malediction in the future!

Story

Long ago, a handsome and fair prince ruled over the town of Bergueux. This town was rich with trade under the prince's rule, and he adorned himself in jewelry and expensive clothing made of silk. He bought exquisite paintings from famous painters, hired the best and prettiest servants, and prized the most beautiful objects of value. Soon, the prince could not help but be repulsed by the sight of anything that wasn't immaculately crafted or naturally beautiful, and turned away those that did not meet his standards.

A hag that lived near Bergueux then heard about the prince and his lavish tastes. She grew curious of the prince, as she could not fathom such a shallow and narcissistic person. The hag decided that this prince must be taken care of, and traveled to the town of Bergueux. She did not disguise herself and arrived into the town in her true, ugly form before strolling up to the prince's castle and asking to meet him in person.

The castle's attendants had heard of the hag, and fearing being cursed, fetched the prince at once. When the prince saw the hag in her true form, he gagged and wretched and slew insults at her unsightly form. The hag cackled in response, and simply took a rose out from her cloak.

The rose was the most beautiful thing the prince had seen, and he asked the witch to hand it to him immediately. She graciously handed the pristine rose to the prince, and bowed before leaving the prince and his guard's company, never to be seen again.

That evening, as the prince lay underneath his silk blanket admiring the rose in its display case, he felt an uneasy feeling come over him. He ignored it best he could and fell asleep soon after.

When he next woke, the rose had grown massive roots as large as tree trunks, and glowed a dull red. He discovered that his form had changed and morphed into that of a hideous beast! He had grown fur, gnarled horns, asymmetrical teeth, and massive claws. His servants had disappeared, their souls trapped into his immaculate furniture and a former shell of themselves. Before the prince could rush to destroy the rose, he felt a powerful sensation rush over him when he saw the rose. He mustn't destroy the rose, he thought. No, he must protect it. He must kill anyone who enters his castle mercilessly, and he must keep the beautiful rose safe as long as he lives...
